Please add Move, Split and Join Topics using the Keyboard.
I'd love to be able to move topics around the map using the keyboard. Right now you can move a topic up or down using CTRL+ALT+{up or down arrow}. I'd like to be able to promote and demote topics too. It could behave exactly like moving the topic highlight currently does except it would MOVE the topics not just the hightlight.
I'd love to be able to place the cursor in a topic and use some keystroke combination (CTRL+ALT+S) to SPLIT a topic into two.
And conversely I'd like to highlight two or more topics and be able to JOIN them (CTRL+ALT+J) into one topic.
Any of these happening in the new version?
Thanks!

Apparently there's not much interest in these features...
Bummer...
From my perspective these would be the single best improvement to MindManager that MindJet could make.
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there's any way to enable this using the API or by scripting? Any pointers towards possible solutions in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Re: Please add Move, Split and Join Topics using the Keyboard.
I was getting on the forum to post a request to be able to somehow merge multiple topics (as well as split single ones) -- thinking that someone might have already posted such a request. I notice in scouring the help system that there is already a function to split a topic (which is something I need to do occasionally) but I couldn't find any way (keyboard or otherwise) to merge multiple topics, which is something I need more often. This need arises when copying a list from a pdf or other source that contains line returns, resulting in three topics perhaps for each topic. It is a real pain to do this merge manually. It would be great if there were at least a macro that we could install and run to merge a group of topics into one topic -- and better yet if merge and split were seen as first class functions. One challenge I see would be what to do with the children. This seems clear in the case of merge, where you could just combine the children. I don't know what is now in the current split function. That would seem to offer the biggest challenge, but I would think you would just leave the children with the original topic and allow the user to move some of the children after the split. However, most of that is just theoretical, because the biggest need for these functions in my experience is before any children have been added.

Did anything ever happen with this - especially splitting and merging topics? These were fabulous ideas and I cannot figuree out how to do them in MM 8.

My bad - I found out how to split (that was too easy :)), but can I merge?
