 Document Management
Is anyone using MindManager as a simple document management system? I'm looking for something simple to organize multiple files by categories (project, technology, etc.) without dependence on where the files are physically stored. The idea seems plausible in MindManager, but I was curious if anyone had attempted an implementation.

We have developed a connection between MindManager and a webbased project management application which allows us to use MindManager to fill in Prince2-forms using the Prince2-workflow for example. There's a quick demo where you can see this functionality at: http://ahaweb.nl/productdemos/ahaprojectguide.html

We use a map as an 'active' portal for our project. Because our file structure is so large, we group everthing on one map and hyperlink out to all folder and files of interest. I actually use mindmanager as an active desktop, with shortcuts for programs, folder structures documents etc

This sounds a whole like the topics Wallace Tait has written on Master Mapping. He and I are very big advocates on the subject. Currently we inbed the maps within a map and when everyou make a copy of the master map all the other maps are included.
There is nothing better than using a visual method of maintaining your files.
Happy mapping

 Re: Document Management
Have a look at DocumentLite, it is electronic document management system where custom made software tools are used to process, index, and store, distribute and dispose of the documents.
It is absolutely free software with open source.
